Everybody's Got One
A blog. An opinion. An elimination orifice. A dream. An agenda. A past. A hidden talent. A conceptual filter. A cross. A charism (often the same). A task. A wound. A destiny. A lost love. A blind spot. A bad habit. A secret. A passion. A soul ... okay, maybe not everybody ...

A pregnant Spoonerism* from today's gospel text: My sin, your sons are forgiven you. Somewhere in the noosphere, floating around untethered, there's a Peter de Vries-like, shaggy-dog story with that as the punchline. (Probably involving adultery and illegitimacy and - oh, what the heck - barren royalty.) But how many people would get the reference?

*I'm not sure it's technically a Spoonerism if you transpose the internal vowels rather than the initial consonants. For my money, I'll call this an instance of an unnamed species of the overall genus Spooner - subject of course to correction by the word-taxonomy police.
