An election day note about process before the results begin to trickle in:

Finally, the campaign is over. I've spent the last few weeks being assaulted with unrelenting insults to my political intelligence by people who think that responsible positions can be adequately encapsulated in eight-second sound bites, or that a handful of votes plucked completely out of context can sufficiently impeach an office-holder's record. Do they really think the electorate is that shallow and easily misled?
Of course they do.
