Is anybody really surprised that obesity has become the latest public health crisis now that smoking has been effectively stigmatized, and even social drinking comes under increasing assault? We are inveterably oral creatures, for good and ill, and the new prohibitionists are aggressively working their magic on two pieces of the traditional calorie controlled diet. What's left but food?

Of course, we could always let the Greens take over the economy and bring back widespread hunger (but at least what little food there was would be sustainably grown!)
