If they blink, we all lose  

Yes. Via Sullivan, who calls it "A Grown-up Asessment." It's more than that. This is what opinion journalism is supposed to be.

It's like the Senate debate over the first Gulf War. Listening to it, I said, This is the way the Senate is supposed to work. And hasn't since.

Neither has journalism.
